The Topog-E® Series 180 gasket is designed to withstand a maximum pressure/temperature rating of 180 psi (12 bar) for steam applications up to 380°F (193°C) and 200 psi (14 bar) for water, condensate, air, and similar substances up to 300°F (150°C). It offers excellent resistance to steam as well as both hot and cold water, alongside good resistance to various chemicals including alcohols, ketones, phosphate esters, silicone oils and greases, dilute acids, bases, salts, glycols, ammonia, selected refrigerants, and animal and vegetable fats when used according to the supplier's guidelines. However, it is not recommended for use with high concentrations of aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated solvents, or petroleum-based oils, fuels, and lubricants. Suitable applications for this gasket include steam and hot water boilers, water softeners, hot water heaters, steam humidifiers and cookers, water purifiers and demineralizers, refrigeration units, liquid treatment vessels, carbon absorption and filtering vessels, dryer cans in paper mills, water hydrants, mixing tanks, compressed air tanks, various dryers, air starters and receivers, deaerators, hatch covers, and water towers and columns, as well as PVC reactor vessels.
