DynaMed's DynaGuard waterproof dressing is a sterile, multi-layered foam dressing designed to provide a warm, moist healing environment for wounds. It features a waterproof top layer that serves as a bacterial barrier, protecting the wound from external liquids that could lead to infection. The inner foam layer effectively absorbs drainage, while the low-adherent contact layer and adhesive non-woven fabric border ensure protection for the wound bed and gentleness on the skin. This dressing can be utilized as a primary or secondary dressing suitable for treating various acute or chronic wounds, including pressure sores, leg ulcers, and withdrawn I.V. sites, specifically for wounds classified as partial to full thickness at stages 2, 3, and 4. The dressing is composed of a transparent PU film (0.015 mm thickness), medical non-woven fabric, an absorbent cotton pad, a medical pressure-sensitive adhesive (acrylic), and glassine paper. Key features include a combination of alginate and silver ions that transform into a fibrous gel upon contact with wound exudate, a four-layer construction comprising a low-adherent contact layer, an absorbent pad, a semi-occlusive barrier film, and a conformable adhesive non-woven fabric border, and its medium absorbency, making it ideal for moderate-exuding wounds.
