BirdWire® is a spring-tensioned post and wire system specifically designed to create an unstable landing area that discourages pest birds from landing, particularly targeting pigeons in light to medium bird pressure environments. This bird control solution is widely used throughout the US due to its low-profile design and minimal visual impact, making it suitable for applications on long, exposed ledges, parapets, signs, beams, and pipes. The material used is stainless steel, with installation involving a nylon-coated wire that is tensioned between stainless steel posts using springs. The installation level is considered involved, but the product remains very discreet, making it a preferred choice for high-visibility ledges where aesthetics are important. The system operates by attaching nylon-coated spring-tensioned stainless steel wire to stainless steel posts at varying heights and intervals, with bases that can either be drilled into surfaces or glued on.
