TowerGuard posts are 14 inches tall and have a diameter of 1/2 inch, designed to accommodate various heights of cord or wire, with recommendations to use one of the top and bottom holes for adjustable levels. Both cord and wire can be easily threaded through the holes, and the posts are resistant to high winds and temperatures. An added post tip provides additional repellent features, while safety posts with a yellow cap are recommended for those concerned about safety, effectively deterring gulls, cormorants, vultures, osprey, hawks, owls, and other large birds. This system creates both a visual and physical barrier for railings and flat surfaces, discouraging birds from perching due to their preference for low-cost energy locations. The posts are removable with a simple pin, facilitating maintenance on antennas and railings when necessary. Constructed from a durable plastic used in telecommunications outdoor boxes, these posts are proven to withstand UV degradation. For sensitive applications such as radar and radio sites, the TowerGuard system offers non-metal options, allowing for installation without metal components by utilizing a polyester cord instead of metal birdwire, and substituting the post locking pin with a short length of knotted polyester cord.
