An exclusive lock mechanism securely holds the shackle closed during use, with the lock attached to the shackle to prevent the loss of pins often associated with steel shackles. In the event of failure, the design ensures that the rope falls to the ground instead of whipping dangerously, and it eliminates the risk of a metal hook being launched as a projectile.
