3M™ Polyurethane Sealant 540 is an all-purpose, single-component, moisture-curing, gap-filling polyurethane that creates permanently elastic seals and bonds in a wide variety of service environments. This sealant offers multi-purpose bonding and long-lasting seals, maintaining elasticity to allow for joint movement. It features a skin time of 60-90 minutes and is paintable once the skin forms. With good UV resistance, this one-component moisture-curing sealant simplifies production processes and bonds dissimilar materials for increased design flexibility, while also providing gap-filling capability. Recommended applications include vertical and horizontal panel bonding and joint sealing, aluminum curtain walls and storefronts, transportation manufacturing (bus, rail, truck, trailer), and the replacement of mechanical fasteners in many scenarios.
