3M™ Polyurethane Sealant 540 is an all-purpose, single-component, moisture-curing, gap-filling polyurethane designed to create permanently elastic seals and bonds in a wide variety of service environments. This sealant features multi-purpose bonding and long-lasting seals, while remaining permanently elastic to accommodate joint movement. It has a skin time of 60-90 minutes and is paintable once the skin forms. With good UV resistance and the ability to bond dissimilar materials, it simplifies production and increases design flexibility. The sealant is ideal for vertical and horizontal panel bonding and joint sealing, aluminum curtain walls and storefronts, transportation manufacturing (including bus, rail, truck, and trailer), and serves as a replacement for mechanical fasteners in many applications.
