Fifth wheel steering describes a type of steering where the front wheels and axle assembly pivot on a center point, known as the fifth wheel. This design allows for easier maneuverability, particularly under heavier loads, as the steering wheels encounter less friction when turning compared to a swivel caster. They are typically designed to be pulled but can also be pushed.
