The Chill-Its® 6668 Hi-Vis Safety Cooling Vest is crafted with advanced polymer-embedded technology that quickly activates with water to deliver hours of core cooling relief. The vest comprises three layers: an ANSI/ISEA 107 Type R, Class 2 high visibility shell, a polymer-embedded mid-layer, and a water-repellent liner designed to keep wearers dry. It is lighter and less bulky than most cooling vests available, featuring breathable mesh along the bottom to enhance airflow and prevent excess water from dripping onto clothing. Additional features include loops along the interior of the neckline for inserting cooling towels, two lower interior pockets for storage, one chest exterior pocket, and a zippered closure for easy on and off access. For optimal performance, it is recommended to wear this cooling vest over a t-shirt. Although the water-repellent liner helps to maintain dryness, some dampness may be expected when the vest is activated. The embedded polymers provide cooling relief by drawing heat away from the body, mimicking the natural cooling effect of sweat. Activation requires soaking the vest in water for 2-5 minutes, with the embedded polymers retaining water for up to four hours. To reactivate, simply resoak the vest once it has dried. The vest is hand washable and should be hung dry.
