The Glowear 8217BA Class 2 Hi-Vis 5-Point Breakaway Safety Vest is constructed from durable yet breathable ANSI/ISEA compliant polyester mesh, featuring a 5-point breakaway design that enhances visibility and provides protection against entanglement with moving industrial equipment. This vest meets the ANSI/ISEA 107-2020 Type R Class 2 standard and is designed to harmlessly detach from the body in case of mechanical entanglement. It is made from rugged 100% polyester, which offers resistance in harsh working conditions and supports extra weight in its cargo pockets. The safety vest includes a total of three pockets: an open-top pocket on the lower right exterior for carrying tools, gloves, and notebooks; an upper left interior pocket with a flap for field books and pens; and a lower left pocket for cell phones and other items. Additional features include an upper left mic tab that can also hold safety glasses or pens, along with 2-inch ANSI-compliant reflective tape for enhanced visibility both day and night. The vest is comfortable, with a lowered shoulder breakaway to prevent irritation, and provides ample storage with easy access pockets. This reflective safety vest is suitable for various roles, including flaggers, airport baggage handlers, road construction workers, and utility workers. The vest is self-extinguishing and has been tested and approved to ASTM D6413 test method, although it is not intended for use in arc flash or flash fire applications.
