The AirSpade® 5000 Utility Series is an advanced air excavation tool designed to safely uncover underground utilities. It features an in-line style handle that allows for vertical gripping, optimizing control during operations. The tool is equipped with a proprietary AirSpade® Supersonic Nozzle, made from non-sparking bronze, which generates a high-speed air jet moving at twice the speed of sound for efficient digging. The rugged aluminum handle is lightweight and designed with a full-size grip opening to accommodate lineman's gloves, while a comfortable plastic grip offers thermal protection and some electrical insulation. For safe operation, the AirSpade® 5000 Utility includes a dead-man trigger, a trigger guard to prevent accidental activation, and an integral pressure gauge to ensure optimal digging performance. It has a 3/4'' NPT compressed air inlet with a swivel-type universal coupler and a screw-on, electrically insulated fiberglass barrel rated for 300kV, which protects operators from buried high-voltage utility lines. The tool also features brass barrel sleeves and connectors to minimize sparking potential, an adjustable rubber dirt shield to deflect soil and debris, and a detachable auxiliary handle for added versatility. The kit includes the AS 5000 handle with a swivel-type universal coupler, a 300kV rated insulated 4 ft. fiberglass barrel with dirt shield, a 105 CFM non-sparking bronze Supersonic nozzle, a detachable auxiliary handle, and an operations manual.
