The AirSpade® 5000 Utility Series is designed for air excavation applications, featuring an in-line style handle that allows for vertical gripping. This innovative tool utilizes a high-performance, proprietary AirSpade® supersonic nozzle made of non-sparking bronze, generating a laser-like air jet that moves at twice the speed of sound, enhancing digging efficiency. The rugged, lightweight aluminum handle includes a full-size grip opening suitable for linesman's gloves, while the comfortable plastic grip provides thermal protection and partial electrical insulation. Safety is prioritized with a dead-man trigger, a trigger guard to prevent accidental activation, and an integral pressure gauge for optimal performance. The kit includes a 3/4'' NPT compressed air inlet with a swivel-type universal coupler, a screw-on insulated fiberglass barrel rated to 300kV, brass barrel sleeves, and connectors to minimize sparking potential, and an adjustable rubber dirt shield to deflect soil and debris.
