The NextPette™ development project began with feedback from a diverse group of researchers and technicians, leading to the creation of an ultra-lightweight and ergonomic pipettor that does not sacrifice durability, accuracy, or precision. This pipettor features an easily accessible volume adjustment system that simplifies volume selection, with a uniquely positioned volume dial located above the handle for convenient one-handed adjustments. The volume display is oriented towards the user, eliminating the need to rotate the pipettor for visibility. The NextPette™ includes an innovative asymmetrical plunger button that can be rotated to match user comfort preferences, allowing for adjustments between a wider traditional feel and a narrower, thumb-shaped contour. The materials and components are chosen to minimize weight while ensuring long-lasting durability, with precision plungers made from stainless steel for the 1µl, 10µl, 5000µl, and 10,000µl models, and ceramic for the 20µl, 200µl, and 1000µl models, all utilizing durable PTFE seals. Designed for easy servicing, the pipettors can be disassembled and have seals that are simple to replace. Each pipettor comes with silicone lubricant, and users can recalibrate the device in the lab without tools, with detailed instructions provided in the manual. The entire pipettor is autoclavable, ensuring compliance with laboratory sterilization standards.
