The Steel King® SK2000® Boltless Pallet Rack features a 42"W x 192"H teardrop upright frame (RTFBP042192F01PB) constructed of closed steel tubing, which provides 44 times more resistance to torsional fork truck impact loads compared to open-back "roll formed" columns. This boltless design allows for easy installation without tools, facilitating cost savings in time and labor. Each upright frame accommodates 2" vertical beam adjustments and is engineered for enhanced durability, lower maintenance costs, improved safety, and a longer service life. The column design incorporates holes placed on the face rather than the corners to minimize strength loss, while a formed ridge increases cross-section strength and rigidity. Accessory holes on the column's side permit the use of bolt-in row spacers and wall ties. The frame includes full diagonal and horizontal bracing throughout its height, and the heavy 10-gauge footpads are welded directly to the uprights for efficient load dispersion. The footpads feature a formed ridge for easy nesting of shim plates and multiple offset anchor holes for versatile anchor placement. Notably, the footpads are flush with the column sides to allow full "seating" of floor level load beams. Welds between braces and column utilize full fillet welds, ensuring greater strength compared to spot-welds. The weight capacity is assessed based on 36-inch vertical beam spacing.
