The Scotch-Brite™ finishing film backed belt provides increased wear resistance and longer life for light-pressure finishing applications, featuring a built-in lubricant that helps it run cooler, reduces loading, and increases belt life. It can replace cork belts, buffs and compounds, rag wheels with compounds, coated abrasive belts, flap wheels, and bristle brushes. This belt is designed for enhanced performance in fine finishing and polishing operations, utilizing very fine grade aluminum oxide abrasive for consistent, high-quality finishes on stainless steel, harder aluminum alloys, and carbon steel. This abrasive excels in coating removal, whitewood defuzzing, scuffing on laminate, and other applications. The film backing ensures smooth operation and durability with water or oil. The aluminum oxide abrasive is tough and provides a fast cut-rate with long life, making it ideal for various industrial applications, including restaurant and food service equipment, fabricated metal finishing, aerospace blending, and ski manufacturing. The Scotch-Brite™ advantage of nonwoven technology combines fiber strands, resin, and abrasive mineral to form a thick, open web that effectively removes burrs, soils, and contaminants while preserving the geometry of the workpiece, thereby reducing rework and enhancing productivity.
