Hallowell® Hi-Tech® Starter Unit metal shelving is designed for fast and easy assembly and installation, available in open and closed styles with medium, heavy, and extra heavy duty shelves to meet various shelving capacity requirements. The adjustable heavy-duty shelves are formed with two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges and are stamped on the top left corner for identification. Class 1 shelves are fabricated from heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel, featuring roll-formed rectangular tubular shaped front and rear edges with return bends that are resistance welded to the underside of the shelf. Welds are spaced 3" on center to ensure maximum strength, while the sides are triple flanged to form a channel. All four corners are lapped and resistance welded to enhance rigidity and strength. The top surface is punched for attaching shelf dividers from left to right on 1-1/2" centers for 36" wide x 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep shelves, with all other sizes punched on 3" centers. Both front and rear surfaces are punched for attaching accessories, and the tubular front edge is designed to protect against impact loads. The shelving units are suitable for uniformly distributed loads up to 800 pounds.
