Hallowell® Hi-Tech® starter unit metal shelving is engineered for fast and straightforward assembly and installation, available in both open and closed styles, with medium, heavy, and extra heavy duty shelves tailored to meet specific shelving capacity requirements. The adjustable heavy-duty shelves feature two formed ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges and are stamped on the top left corner for identification. Class 1 shelves are made from heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel, featuring roll formed rectangular tubular shaped front and rear edges with return bends that are resistance welded to the underside. The welds are spaced 3" on center for enhanced strength, and the sides are triple flanged to create a channel. All four corners are lapped and resistance welded, ensuring a rigid corner that adds additional strength. The top surface is punched for attaching shelf dividers on 1-1/2" centers from left to right for 36" wide shelves, accommodating depths of 12", 15", 18", and 24", while all other sizes have punch holes on 3" centers. The front and rear surfaces are also punctuated for accessory attachment, and the tubular front edge is designed to withstand impact loads, supporting uniformly distributed loads of up to 800 pounds.
