Hallowell® Hi-Tech® starter unit metal shelving is specially designed for fast and easy assembly and installation, featuring both open and closed styles with medium, heavy, and extra heavy duty shelves tailored to meet specific shelving capacity requirements. The adjustable heavy-duty shelves are formed with two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges and are stamped on the top left corner for identification. Class 1 shelves are constructed from heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel, equipped with roll formed rectangular tubular shaped front and rear edges, with return bends that are resistance welded to the underside of the shelf. The welds are spaced 3 inches on center to provide maximum strength, while the sides are triple flanged to form a channel. All four corners are lapped and resistance welded, ensuring a rigid corner and additional strength. The top surface is punched for attaching shelf dividers from left to right on 1-1/2-inch centers for 36-inch wide by 12, 15, 18, and 24-inch deep shelves, with all other sizes punched on 3-inch centers. The front and rear surfaces are also punched for attaching accessories, and the tubular front edge is designed to protect against impact loads, supporting uniformly distributed loads up to 800 pounds.
