Hallowell® Hi-Tech® shelving is a robust shelving system designed for industrial applications and modern facilities, providing durability and versatility for daily use. Each unit is constructed from cold rolled sheet steel for strength and ease of assembly and installation. The shelves feature two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edge, with a stamped identification mark in the top left corner. The Class 1 shelves are made from heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel, incorporating roll formed rectangular tubular shaped edges with return bends that are resistance welded to the underside, with welds spaced 3" on center for maximum strength. The sides are triple flanged to create a channel, and all four corners are lapped and resistance welded to enhance rigidity. The top surface is equipped with punch holes for attaching shelf dividers on 1-1/2" centers for standard sizes of 36" wide x 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep, while other sizes use 3" centers. Additionally, the front and rear surfaces are punched for accessory attachment. The tubular front edge is specifically engineered to withstand impact loads, supporting uniformly distributed loads of up to 800 pounds.
