Hallowell® Hi-Tech® starter unit metal shelving features a design that facilitates fast and easy assembly and installation, available in both open and closed styles. The shelving includes medium, heavy, and extra heavy duty shelves tailored to meet specific shelving capacity requirements. The adjustable heavy-duty shelves are constructed with two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges, stamped for identification in the top left corner. Class 1 shelves are made from heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel and feature roll-formed rectangular tubular front and rear edges with resistance-welded return bends on the underside. The welds are spaced 3" on center to ensure maximum strength, and the sides are triple flanged to create a channel. All corners are lapped and resistance welded for added rigidity and strength. The top surface is punched for shelf dividers at 1-1/2" centers for 36" wide x 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep shelves, while all other sizes are punched on 3" centers. Additionally, the front and rear surfaces are punched for accessory attachment, and the tubular front edge is designed to withstand impact loads, supporting uniformly distributed loads of up to 800 pounds.
