Hallowell® Hi-Tech® starter unit metal shelving is specifically engineered for quick and straightforward assembly and installation. It is offered in both open and closed styles with medium, heavy, and extra heavy-duty shelves tailored to accommodate varying shelving capacity needs. The adjustable heavy-duty shelves are constructed with two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges, and are stamped on the top left corner for identification. Class 1 shelves are made from heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel and feature roll-formed rectangular tubular shaped front and rear edges with return bends, which are resistance welded to the shelf's underside. The welds are spaced 3 inches on center for optimal strength, and the sides are triple flanged to create a channel. Each of the four corners is lapped and resistance welded to enhance rigidity and strength. The top surface is punched to allow the attachment of shelf dividers on 1-1/2 inch centers from left to right for 36-inch wide by 12, 15, 18, and 24-inch deep shelves, with other sizes punched on 3-inch centers. Additionally, the front and rear surfaces are punched for accessory attachment, and the tubular front edge is designed to resist impact loads. This shelving unit is capable of supporting uniformly distributed loads up to 800 pounds.
