Hallowell® Hi-Tech® starter unit metal shelving is designed for fast and easy assembly and installation, featuring both open and closed styles with medium, heavy, and extra heavy duty shelves to accommodate specific shelving capacity requirements. The adjustable heavy-duty shelves are formed with two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges and are stamped on the top left corner for identification. Class 1 shelves are constructed from heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel and feature roll formed rectangular tubular shaped front and rear edges with return bends, which are resistance welded to the underside of the shelf. Welds are spaced 3" on center for maximum strength, while the sides are triple flanged to form a channel. All four corners are lapped and resistance welded to enhance the rigidity and strength of the shelf. The top surface is punched for attaching shelf dividers from left to right on 1-1/2" centers for shelves measuring 36" wide by 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep, with all other sizes punched on 3" centers. The front and rear surfaces are also punched for attaching accessories, and the tubular front edge is designed to protect against impact loads, accommodating uniformly distributed loads up to 800 pounds.
