Hallowell® Hi-Tech® metal shelving is engineered for quick assembly and installation, offering both open and closed styles with varying shelf capacities, including medium, heavy, and extra heavy duty options. The adjustable extra heavy duty shelves feature formed ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges and are identified by stamps on the top left corner. Class 2 shelves are constructed from extra heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel, equipped with roll formed rectangular tubular front and rear edges that are resistance welded with return bends. Weld spacing of 3" on center optimizes strength, while triple flanged sides create a channel for added durability. All corners are lapped and resistance welded to enhance rigidity. The top surface is punched for attaching shelf dividers at 1-1/2" centers from left to right on the front and back for the 36" wide by 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep shelves, with all other sizes punched on 3" centers. The front and rear surfaces allow for accessory attachment, and the tubular front edge is designed to withstand impact loads, supporting uniformly distributed loads of up to 1,200 pounds.
