Hallowell® Hi-Tech® starter unit metal shelving is engineered for fast and easy assembly and installation, available in both open and closed styles with options for medium, heavy, and extra heavy-duty shelves tailored to meet specific shelving capacity requirements. The adjustable heavy-duty shelves feature two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges and are stamped on the top left corner for identification. Class 1 shelves are constructed from heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel, with roll-formed rectangular tubular shaped front and rear edges, and resistance welded return bends on the underside, ensuring maximum strength with welds spaced 3" on center. The sides are triple flanged to create a channel, and all four corners are lapped and resistance welded for added rigidity. The top surface is punched for attaching shelf dividers at 1-1/2" centers from left to right for 36" wide x 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep shelves, while all other sizes are punched on 3" centers. Additionally, the front and rear surfaces are designed for attaching accessories, and the tubular front edge provides protection against impact loads, supporting uniformly distributed loads of up to 800 pounds.
