Hallowell® Hi-Tech free standing shelving is engineered for fast and easy assembly and installation, available in both open and closed styles with medium, heavy, and extra heavy duty shelves to accommodate specific shelving capacity requirements. The shelves are formed with two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges and are stamped on the top left corner for identification. Class 2 shelves are constructed from extra heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel, featuring roll formed rectangular tubular shaped front and rear edges with return bends that are resistance welded to the undersides of the shelves. Weld spacing is 3" on center to ensure maximum strength, and sides are triple flanged to create a channel. All four corners are lapped and resistance welded to reinforce shelf integrity. The top surface is punched for attaching shelf dividers on 1-1/2" centers for 36" wide x 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep shelves, while other sizes are punched on 3" centers. The front and rear surfaces are also punched for attaching accessories, and the tubular front edge is designed to withstand impact loads. This shelving system is suitable for uniformly distributed loads of up to 1,200 pounds.
