Hallowell® Hi-Tech® metal shelving is designed for fast and easy assembly and installation, available in both open and closed styles with medium, heavy, and extra heavy duty shelves to accommodate varying shelving capacity requirements. The adjustable extra heavy duty shelves feature two formed ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges and are stamped on the top left corner for identification. Class 2 shelves are constructed from extra heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel, featuring roll formed rectangular tubular shaped front and rear edges with return bends that are resistance welded to the underside of the shelf. Welds are spaced 3" on center to ensure maximum strength, and the sides are triple flanged to create a channel. All four corners are lapped and resistance welded for added rigidity and strength. The top surface is punched for attaching shelf dividers on 1-1/2" centers front and back for shelves measuring 36" wide x 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep, while all other sizes are punched on 3" centers. The front and rear surfaces are also punched for attaching various accessories, and the tubular front edge is designed to protect against impact loads. These shelves are used for uniformly distributed loads of up to 1,200 pounds.
