Hallowell® Hi-Tech® metal shelving is designed for fast and easy assembly and installation, available in open and closed styles with medium, heavy, and extra heavy-duty shelves to suit specific shelving capacity requirements. The adjustable extra heavy-duty shelves are formed with two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges, stamped on the top left corner for identification. Class 2 shelves are fabricated from extra heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel and feature roll-formed rectangular tubular shaped front and rear edges, with return bends resistance welded to the underside of the shelf. Welds are spaced 3" on center for maximum strength, while sides are triple flanged to form a channel. All four corners are lapped and resistance welded to provide a rigid corner and enhance shelf strength. The top surface is punched for attaching shelf dividers from left to right on 1-1/2" centers for 36" wide x 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep shelves, with all other sizes punched on 3" centers. Front and rear surfaces are also punched for attaching accessories, and the tubular front edge is designed to protect against impact loads, accommodating uniformly distributed loads up to 1,200 pounds.
