Hallowell® Hi-Tech® metal shelving is designed for fast and easy assembly and installation, available in open and closed styles with medium, heavy, and extra heavy-duty shelves to meet specific shelving capacity requirements. The adjustable extra heavy-duty shelves are formed with two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges and are stamped on the top left corner for identification. Class 2 shelves are fabricated from extra heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel and feature roll-formed rectangular tubular shaped front and rear edges with return bends, resistance welded to the underside of the shelf. Welds are spaced 3" on center to provide maximum strength, and the sides are triple flanged to form a channel. All four corners are lapped and resistance welded for a rigid corner that adds extra strength. The top surface is punched to allow for attaching shelf dividers from left to right on 1-1/2" centers on the front and back for 36" wide x 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep shelves, while all other sizes are punched on 3" centers. The front and rear surfaces are also punched for attaching accessories, and the tubular front edge is designed to protect against impact loads, allowing for uniformly distributed loads of up to 1,200 pounds.
