Hallowell® Hi-Tech® metal shelving is designed for fast and easy assembly and installation, available in open and closed styles with medium, heavy, and extra heavy-duty shelves to accommodate various shelving capacity requirements. The adjustable extra heavy-duty shelves are formed with two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges and are stamped on the top left corner for identification. Class 2 shelves are constructed from extra heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel, featuring roll-formed rectangular tubular shaped front and rear edges with return bends, resistance welded to the underside for strength. Welds are spaced 3" on center to maximize support, while the sides are triple flanged to create a channel, and all four corners are lapped and resistance welded for added rigidity. The top surface is punched for shelf divider attachment on 1-1/2" centers front and back for sizes 36" wide x 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep, with other sizes punched on 3" centers. Front and rear surfaces are also punched to facilitate the attachment of accessories. The tubular front edge is designed to protect against impact loads, supporting uniformly distributed loads up to 1,200 pounds.
