Hallowell® Hi-Tech® metal shelving is engineered for quick assembly and installation, available in both open and closed styles with medium, heavy, and extra heavy duty shelves to accommodate various shelving capacity requirements. The adjustable extra heavy duty shelves are constructed with two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges, and feature an identification stamp on the top left corner. Class 2 shelves are made from extra heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel, incorporating roll formed rectangular tubular shaped front and rear edges with return bends that are resistance welded to the underside of the shelf. The welds are spaced 3" on center for enhanced strength, while the sides are triple flanged to create a channel design. All four corners of the shelf are lapped and resistance welded, providing a robust structure. The top surface is punched for shelf dividers installed from left to right on 1-1/2" centers for 36" wide x 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep shelves, with other sizes punched on 3" centers. The front and rear surfaces are also punched to accommodate accessories, and the tubular front edge is designed to withstand impact loads. The shelving units can support uniformly distributed loads of up to 1,200 pounds.
