Hallowell® Hi-Tech® starter unit metal shelving is designed for fast and easy assembly and installation, available in open and closed styles with medium, heavy, and extra heavy duty shelves to meet specific shelving capacity requirements. The adjustable heavy-duty shelves feature formed ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges, with identification stamps on the top left corner. Class 1 shelves are made from heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel, incorporating roll-formed rectangular tubular front and rear edges with resistance-welded return bends. Welds are spaced 3" on center for maximum strength, while the sides are triple flanged to create a channel, and all four corners are lapped and resistance welded for added rigidity. The top surface is punched for shelf dividers on 1-1/2" centers for 36" wide x 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep shelves, with other sizes punched on 3" centers. Front and rear surfaces are also punched for accessory attachment, while the tubular front edge is designed to protect against impact loads, accommodating uniformly distributed loads up to 800 pounds.
