Hallowell® Hi-Tech® starter unit metal shelving is engineered for quick assembly and installation, available in both open and closed styles with varying shelf capacities: medium, heavy, and extra heavy-duty. The adjustable heavy-duty shelves are crafted with two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges and are stamped in the top left corner for identification. Class 1 shelves are constructed from heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel, featuring roll-formed rectangular tubular shaped front and rear edges with return bends that are resistance welded to the underside, and welds spaced 3" on center for optimal strength. The sides are triple flanged to create a channel, while all four corners are lapped and resistance welded to enhance rigidity and strength. The top surface is punched for shelf dividers on 1-1/2" centers for 36" wide x 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep shelves, with other sizes punched on 3" centers. The front and rear surfaces are also punched for attachment of accessories, and the tubular front edge is designed to safeguard against impact loads, accommodating uniformly distributed loads up to 800 pounds.
