Hallowell® Hi-Tech® starter unit metal shelving is designed for fast and easy assembly and installation, featuring both open and closed styles along with medium, heavy, and extra heavy duty shelves to accommodate various shelving capacity requirements. The adjustable shelves are medium duty and formed with two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges, which are stamped in the top left corner for identification. Class 0 shelves are constructed from cold rolled sheet steel, with roll formed rectangular tubular shaped front and rear edges that have return bends resistance welded to the underside for enhanced strength. The welds are spaced 3" on center to provide maximum durability, while the sides are triple flanged to create a channel. All corners are lapped and resistance welded for added robustness. The top surface is punched for attaching shelf dividers from left to right on 1-1/2" centers for 36" wide x 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep shelves, while other sizes are punched on 3" centers. Additionally, the front and rear surfaces are punched for attaching accessories, and the tubular front edge is designed to protect against impact loads, supporting uniformly distributed loads up to 400 pounds.
