Hallowell® Hi-Tech® starter unit metal shelving is engineered for quick and straightforward assembly and installation, featuring both open and closed styles with medium, heavy, and extra heavy duty shelf options to suit various shelving capacity needs. The adjustable medium duty shelves are constructed with two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges, and each shelf is stamped on the top left corner for identification. These Class 0 shelves are made from cold rolled sheet steel with roll formed rectangular tubular shaped front and rear edges, and the return bends are resistance welded to the underside for added durability. The welds are spaced 3 inches on center to ensure maximum strength, while the sides are triple flanged to form a channel. All four corners are lapped and resistance welded for a robust corner design. The top surface is punched for attaching shelf dividers on 1-1/2 inch centers for 36 inch wide x 12, 15, 18, and 24 inch deep shelves, with all other sizes punched on 3 inch centers. Additionally, the front and rear surfaces are also punched for attaching accessories, and the tubular front edge is specifically designed to guard against impact loads, accommodating uniformly distributed loads of up to 400 pounds.
