Hallowell® Hi-Tech® starter unit metal shelving is engineered for rapid assembly and installation, featuring both open and closed styles with medium, heavy, and extra heavy duty shelves to cater to various shelving capacity needs. The adjustable medium duty shelves are designed with two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges and are stamped in the top left corner for identification. Class 0 shelves are constructed from cold rolled sheet steel, boasting roll formed rectangular tubular shaped front and rear edges with return bends that are resistance welded to the underside for enhanced durability. Weld spacing of 3" on center maximizes strength, while triple flanged sides form a robust channel. Each shelf’s corners are lapped and resistance welded, ensuring additional structural integrity. The top surface is pre-punched to facilitate the attachment of shelf dividers on 1-1/2" centers for sizes 36" wide x 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep, with other sizes punched on 3" centers. Front and rear surfaces allow for the addition of accessories, while the tubular front edge safeguards against impact loads, accommodating uniformly distributed loads up to 400 pounds.
