Hallowell® Hi-Tech free standing shelving is engineered for quick assembly and installation, available in both open and closed styles with medium, heavy, and extra heavy-duty shelves tailored to specific shelving capacity requirements. The shelves are constructed with two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges and are stamped on the top left corner for easy identification. Class 2 shelves are made from extra heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel, featuring roll formed rectangular tubular shaped front and rear edges with return bends that are resistance welded to the underside of the shelf. The welds are spaced 3" on center to enhance strength, while the sides are triple flanged to create a channel. All four corners are lapped and resistance welded, ensuring a robust corner construction that contributes additional strength to the shelf. The top surface is punched to allow for attaching shelf dividers at 1-1/2" centers from left to right for 36" wide x 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep shelves, while other sizes are punched on 3" centers. Both front and rear surfaces are also punched for accessory attachment, and the tubular front edge is designed to withstand impact loads. This shelving system can support uniformly distributed loads of up to 1,200 pounds.
