Hallowell® Hi-Tech free standing shelving is designed for fast and easy assembly and installation, available in both open and closed styles with medium, heavy, and extra heavy duty shelves to meet specific shelving capacity requirements. These shelves are constructed from extra heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel, featuring formed rectangular tubular shaped front and rear edges that are resistance welded to enhance strength. Class 2 shelves have two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges, stamped on the top left corner for identification, and are supported by welds spaced 3" on center. The sides are triple flanged to create a channel, while the lapped and resistance welded corners reinforce the shelf's rigidity. The top surface is punched for attaching shelf dividers on 1-1/2" centers for 36" wide x 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep shelves, with other sizes punched on 3" centers. Front and rear surfaces are also punched for accessory attachment, and the tubular front edge is designed to resist impact loads, making the shelving suitable for uniformly distributed loads up to 1,200 pounds.
