The AIMS Power™ battery voltage regulator and isolator is designed to protect batteries using solid state technology by automatically disconnecting a 12V DC source when voltage is not safe or is out of the operating range. This product allows for the use of different battery technologies in the same application, including lithium batteries in any application (such as alternators) due to its capability to prevent overcharging. With a compact and simple 2-wire terminal configuration, installation is straightforward for common 2-wire 12V applications including vehicles, wind, and hydro systems. The regulator continuously monitors input voltage; it operates within a range of 9.4 to 14.4V, supplying power to the output terminal to support loads. If the voltage falls below 9.2V or exceeds 14.6V, power is automatically cut off, protecting the loads. Additionally, the regulator functions as an isolator, disconnecting loads when battery voltage is outside the operating range, thus safeguarding the main starting battery. Key features include compatibility with 12V battery systems, support for 100 amps from alternators or other DC devices, a dedicated alternator port, low and high voltage protection, and reset functionality. Current thresholds are monitored with specific disconnection intervals: for currents greater than 100A/200A and less than 125A/250A, the relay disconnects after 1 minute; for currents greater than 125A/250A and less than 150A/300A, disconnection occurs after 10 seconds; and for currents exceeding 150A/300A, the relay disconnects immediately. The regulator resets after 2 minutes once current returns to the operating range, resuming normal operation and ensuring battery protection while prolonging overall battery life.
