The Starrett® 199 Master Precision Level is a 15" (380mm) tool designed for setting up, checking, and testing a wide variety of machinery, enhancing the efficiency of modern, high-speed equipment. This level features at-a-glance reading capabilities to indicate the exact variation in machinery levelness, an auxiliary level vial to show lateral position and assist in horizontal setting, and specially positioned vials to minimize breakage. It offers fool-proof adjustment, seasoned, machined castings, and comes in a finished wood case. The ground and graduated main vial provides 10-second accuracy, with one division equaling 1/2 thousandth (0.0005) of an inch per foot, or 0.04mm per meter; the main vials include seven graduations on each side of the bubble. Constructed from a special alloy iron to prevent thermal effects, the level bases are made from high-quality seasoned cast iron and are precision-machined on the reference surface, which is scraped for optimal performance.
