The Alcove or KCV Series Cove Heater is a space-saving radiant heater designed to provide warmth from above while also producing convection heat, similar to a baseboard heater. This unit combines the quick comfort of radiant heat with the sustained warmth of convection, ensuring uniform warm air distribution throughout the room. It is mounted near the ceiling, which alleviates furniture placement issues, and features lower surface temperatures compared to baseboard or fan heaters, creating a pleasant heating experience akin to older ceiling cable heating systems. The heater operates silently without moving parts, making it maintenance-free, with typical applications in day care centers, assisted living housing, housing developments, laundry rooms, bathrooms, and bedrooms. Key features include warmth from above, a safer and more versatile design, a long-life element, and an extruded aluminum front panel. It can be wired at both ends and offers easy surface-mount installation with an open-back design for maximum convection. Constructed of extruded aluminum with a maximum cross-section thickness of 0.962 inches and featuring a sawtooth profile to enhance radiating surface area, it has openings on the top and bottom for optimal convection heating. The heater includes a 32 cubic inch junction box at both ends, furnished with 1/2 inch knockouts on the back and top. The ni-chrome wire is embedded in magnesium oxide powder and sealed within an aluminum sheath, providing an element wattage density of approximately 150 watts per linear foot. The full-length back case is constructed of 22 gauge electro-galvanized steel with a baked enamel finish, and it is proudly made in the USA with U.S. and global materials.
