The Alcove or KCV series cove heater provides warmth from above, featuring a space-saving design that combines radiant and convection heat for uniformly dispersed warm air throughout the room. Mounted near the ceiling, it avoids furniture placement problems and operates with surface temperatures lower than baseboard or fan heaters, offering a pleasant heating experience similar to older ceiling cable systems. The heater is constructed of extruded aluminum with a maximum cross-section thickness of .962", featuring a sawtooth profile to increase radiating surface area and an open-back design for maximum convection. It includes a 32 cubic inch junction box at both ends, furnished with 1/2" knockouts on the back and top, with the heating element utilizing ni-chrome wire embedded in magnesium oxide powder, sealed in an aluminum sheath. The element offers a wattage density of approximately 150 watts per linear foot, and the full-length back case is constructed of 22 gauge electro-galvanized steel with a baked enamel finish.
