The 1/2" S-408 No Lead Brass Economy Gate Valve is designed for residential or commercial potable water applications, featuring a durable all-brass body construction along with a heavy cast iron handwheel. Its electric-induction furnace casting process optimizes molten brass temperatures, resulting in superior cast body and bonnet components. The valve includes an inserted bonnet with large stem packing and a forged packing nut, while the full-flow waterway reduces pressure drop to ensure consistent flow. The non-rising stem design is compact and reliable, and the solid, fully-guided disc-wedge opens completely out of the flow path. Integral seats are precision-ground to match each disc-wedge. The valve is third-party certified and meets the following certifications: ANSI/NSF 61 for drinking water system components health effects and NSI/NSF 372 for drinking water system components lead content. It conforms to ANSI/ASME B1.20.1 for general purpose pipe threads and ANSI/ASME B16.18 for cast pressure alloy solder-joint pressure fittings.
