The 1/2" T-408 No Lead Brass Economy Gate Valve is designed for both residential and commercial potable water applications, featuring a durable all-brass body construction complemented by a heavy cast iron handwheel. The electric-induction furnace casting process enhances molten brass temperatures, ensuring superior cast body and bonnet components. This valve includes an inserted bonnet with large stem packing and a forged packing nut, while its full-flow waterway minimizes pressure drop for a consistent flow. The non-rising stem design is compact and reliable, with a solid, fully-guided disc-wedge that opens entirely out of the flow path. Integral seats are precision-ground to match each disc-wedge, and the valve complies with various certifications and standards, including third-party certification, ANSI/NSF 61 for drinking water system components health effects, and NSI/NSF 372 for drinking water system components lead content. It also adheres to ANSI/ASME B1.20.1 concerning general-purpose pipe threads and ANSI/ASME B16.18 regarding cast pressure alloy solder-joint pressure fittings.
