The 2" S-408 No Lead Brass Economy Gate Valve is designed for both residential and commercial potable water applications, featuring a durable all-brass body construction complemented by a heavy cast iron handwheel. Its electric-induction furnace casting process enhances molten brass temperatures, ensuring superior cast body and bonnet components. The valve incorporates an inserted bonnet with large stem packing and a forged packing nut, along with a full-flow waterway that minimizes pressure drop for consistent flow. The non-rising stem design is both compact and reliable, while a solid, fully-guided disc-wedge opens completely out of the flow path, and integral seats are precision-ground to match each disc-wedge. This product is third-party certified and complies with ANSI/NSF 61 for Drinking Water System Components Health Effects and NSF/ANSI 372 for Drinking Water System Components Lead Content. Additionally, it meets the ANSI/ASME B1.20.1 standards for pipe threads, general purpose, inch, and ANSI/ASME B16.18 standards for cast pressure alloy solder-joint pressure fittings.
