The 1-1/2" S-408 No Lead Brass Economy Gate Valve is specifically designed for residential or commercial potable water applications, featuring a durable all-brass body construction complemented by a heavy cast iron handwheel. Its electric-induction furnace casting process optimizes molten brass temperatures, yielding superior cast body and bonnet components. The valve incorporates an inserted bonnet with a large stem packing and forged packing nut, ensuring a full-flow waterway that reduces pressure drop for consistent flow. Its non-rising stem design is compact and reliable, while the solid, fully-guided disc-wedge opens completely out of the flow path. The integral seats are precision-ground to match each disc-wedge. This product is third-party certified, complying with ANSI/NSF 61 for drinking water system components health effects and NSI/NSF 372 for lead content. It also meets standards ANSI/ASME B1.20.1 for pipe threads, general purpose, inch, and ANSI/ASME B16.18 for cast pressure alloy solder-joint pressure fittings.
