The 1-1/4" S-408 No Lead Brass Economy Gate Valve is designed for both residential and commercial potable water applications, featuring a durable all-brass body construction complemented by a heavy cast iron handwheel. Its electric-induction furnace casting process optimizes molten brass temperatures, resulting in superior cast body and bonnet components, while the inserted bonnet incorporates a large stem packing and a forged packing nut. The valve's full-flow waterway reduces pressure drop, allowing for consistent flow, and its non-rising stem design ensures compact and reliable operation. A solid, fully-guided disc-wedge opens completely out of the flow path, and the integral seats are precision-ground to match each disc-wedge, enhancing performance. This valve is third-party certified and complies with ANSI/NSF 61 for drinking water system components health effects and NSF/ANSI 372 for lead content. Additionally, it adheres to the standards ANSI/ASME B1.20.1 for general purpose pipe threads and ANSI/ASME B16.18 for cast pressure alloy solder-joint pressure fittings.
