Ruffneck™ FR heat exchanger unit heaters are extra heavy-duty units featuring heavy gauge steel construction, specifically designed for steam applications that may experience freezing conditions, making them particularly valuable for outdoor use. Explosion-proof models are available for hazardous locations upon custom order. These heaters are engineered for ease of maintenance, with all parts easily removable and all fasteners consisting of plated cap screws, avoiding the use of sheet metal screws. The heat exchanger cores are constructed from steel with tension wound, close-fitting aluminum fins, providing resistance to corrosive agents such as hydrogen sulfide. Each unit is equipped with a narrow-gap, epoxy-coated fan guard. Customers can choose from various optional UL listed and/or CSA approved motors that vary in voltage, phase, and frequency. All FR models hold Canadian CRN approvals and are CSA certified for hazardous locations: Class I, Division 1 & 2, Groups C & D; Class II, Division 1 & 2, Groups E, F, & G; Class III, Division 1 & 2; with a temperature code of T3B 329°F (165°C) applicable to certain models.
