Caloritech™ GX Series heavy duty forced air unit heaters are specifically engineered for heavy duty use in industrial environments, such as mine shafts, pulp & paper mills, hoist houses, welding shops, maintenance shops, sewage treatment plants, chemical plants, weigh scale pits, elevator shafts, crane cabs, and more. This unit features a heavy duty forced air heater with a 600V 3Ø 15kW heating capability (sq./ft. depends on conditions - consult factory), electric fuel type, hardwired setup, and is intended for indoor use. It includes a blower and is CSA approved for both horizontal and vertical air flow. The heater has an automatic reset high-limit and is available in 15, 20, 25, 30, 40, and 50 kW units, with 40 and 50 kW models incorporating split loads (50%) for remotely controlled energy management systems. Factory-installed transformers, contactors, and thermostats are provided where specified, along with individually adjustable louvres and a factory-balanced aluminum fan blade. Additional features include fan delay in on and off cycles, a full-sized control panel with a hinged removable door constructed to EEMAC 12 standards, continuous fan terminals for connection to a remote switch, a 14-gauge steel cabinet with epoxy painting (ASA61 grey) for superior corrosion resistance, and a 1/3 HP motor with sealed ball bearings and totally enclosed construction. A ceiling mounting bracket is supplied, and the motor is mounted outside the element bundle to eliminate premature failure due to overheating while providing easy access for maintenance. The elements are robust Caloritech™ type KX finned tubular sheathed type with epoxy sealed terminals to prevent contamination from moisture and airborne impurities. Additional specifications include a built-in thermostat with a range of 41°F to 100°F (5°C to 38°C), a disconnect switch with door interlock, HRC main load fuses, a fused control circuit, a manual reset high limit, a continuous fan switch, and a low voltage relay.
