The Norseman® XB series convection heater, with ratings up to 5000 watts, is specifically designed for heating environments where explosive substances may be present, such as storage rooms for paints and cleaners, grain elevators, and gas plants. This heater is available with either CCSAUS or CE ATEX approvals, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Each unit is equipped with an externally adjustable thermostat and features Thermon Heating Systems' unique copper-free aluminum extruded convector and patented X-MAX® terminal housing, which provides a state-of-the-art design. It offers models with power ranging from 47.5 to 5130W and operates at voltages from 120 to 600V. The heaters feature a large convector surface area and high mass fins for effective low-temperature heat transfer, while the black anodized surface resists oxidation to maximize heat transfer efficiency. The X-MAX® housing includes multiple tapped conduit entries to facilitate installation, and a track and trolley system with threaded covers at each end allows for easy access to internal components. All models, except the single heat sink units, include a built-in terminal block for simplified electrical connections, and the units are designed for vertical wall or floor mounting. Standard accessories include dual-purpose brackets for installation and wire guards for safety. The Norseman® XB is certified for use in Class I, Division 1 & 2, Groups A, B, C & D; Class II, Division 1 & 2, Groups E, F, G; and Class III, Division 1 & 2, with a temperature code of T3C.
