The Norseman® XB series convection heater, with ratings up to 5000 watts, is designed for heating spaces where explosive substances are or may be present, such as storage rooms for paints and cleaners, grain elevators, and gas plants. The Norseman® XB is available with either CCSAUS or CE ATEX approvals and features an externally adjustable thermostat for easy temperature control. This explosion-proof heater utilizes Thermon Heating Systems' unique copper-free aluminum extruded convector and patented X-MAX® terminal housing, which provides a large convector surface area and high mass fins to ensure safe and efficient low-temperature heat transfer to the environment. The convectors are black anodized to resist oxidation and maximize heat transfer. The X-MAX® housing includes multiple tapped conduit entries to facilitate installation. The heater also features a track and trolley system with threaded covers at each end for easy access to internal components. All units, except the single heat sink units, come equipped with a built-in terminal block for simplified electrical connection. The Norseman® XB units are intended for wall or floor mounting in a vertical position and include dual-purpose brackets and wire guards as standard. Models are offered in a range from 47.5 to 5130 watts and from 120 to 600 volts, and they are CCSAUS approved for Class I, Division 1 & 2, Groups A, B, C & D; Class II, Division 1 & 2, Groups E, F, G; Class III, Division 1 & 2 at a temperature code.
